We recommend ducted wall canopy rangehoods with a CHOICE Expert Rating of at least 80% and a noise score of at least 55%. Undermount and retractable models are generally less effective at removing steam; they need a CHOICE Expert Rating of at least 70% and a noise score of at least 46%.

The CHOICE Expert Rating in ducted mode is made up of performance (60%), noise (30%) and ease of use (10%).
