What is the CHOICE Expert Rating?

CHOICE Expert Rating

This is the product's overall performance score, based on key tests conducted by our industry experts in the CHOICE labs.

Good points

• Suitable for newborn in the pram bassinet.
• Adjustable seat recline.
• Reversible seat direction.
• Adjustable handle height.
• Pram bassinet which converts to the seat.
• Very easy to load and unload the bottom container.

Bad points

• Serious safety failure: A child's head can go over the head end of the seat, and settle between the edge of the head end of the seat and its adjacent fabric-lined metal frame, causing the child's head to be unsupported.
• Minor safety failure: The buckle engaging piece on the waist straps can be removed.
• Very minor failure of information requirements.
•The 4 buckle tongues could be inadvertently inserted into the wrong buckle slots.
•Hard to operate the front wheel swivel lock.
•The locking tabs on the length adjusters for the shoulder straps are too easy to release inadvertently and might cause the child to be loosely harnessed.
•Shoulder straps heights are not adjustable.

CHOICE Expert Rating View more details.

This overall score combines performance (70%) and ease of use (30%). Our test is based on the voluntary Australian standard, AS/NZS 2008:2013 which goes beyond mandatory requirements. Recommended strollers meet all safety requirements. Some models in the 60–69% range are worth considering if they meet all key safety requirements but fail some minor points (such as finger entrapment hazards). Models we don't recommend have at least one serious safety failure.

Passed durability tests View more details.

Durability tests are based on Australian standards. All the strollers are attached to a machine that continuously simulates the action of mounting a kerb. New brands are placed on our 'rolling road' rig for 64 hours at a speed of 5km/h. These tests show whether anything breaks, falls off or stops working properly after regular use.
